Welcome to this month’s general card reading. I hope that it will resonate with those of you who read it and you will find it helpful.
Cards duplicated in the last 6 months:
August and October – 10 of Cups
August and October – 5 of Pentacles
July and October – Queen of Cups
July and October – 9 of Wands
May and October – 7 of Swords
May and October – 10 of Wands
When I was looking at these cards the first thing that came to mind was that we are being asked to deal with all the issues that we might had decided to side-track earlier in the year. These are things that we weren’t quite prepared to walk away from, though we knew that their time was over. Or
losing focus of our goals and immersing ourselves in the inevitable obstacles and challenges that is part of human existence – and with that immersion spending our time worrying instead of doing something productive to sort it out once and for all. Not forgetting the times that we didn’t use the necessary tact and diplomacy, but tried to make things happen by using ‘bull in a china shop’ methods.
As we start off this month we are either reminded of, or appreciate, the loving and lasting relationships we have in our lives. It’s a good time to recognise the people in our lives that love us unconditionally and are always there for us in our hours of
need. These are the people that make life worthwhile and not the ones that we have to continuously chase or please in order to remind them of our existence.
The first part of October is about letting go of the situations and/or people who no longer grow corn for us. Are we going to allow ourselves to be held back any longer by people that don’t appreciate us, don’t see our worth, or are we going to learn our
lesson, wish them well, and close the door firmly behind us. It might seem like a difficult thing to do initially, but it will enable us to expand and grow – especially in financial and material ways, and we will quite quickly feel like having a grand old party and lots of fun! It often is the case that we don’t realise exactly how certain people or circumstances can weigh us down until they are no longer in our lives – then we wonder why on earth we kept them around for so
long.
In the middle part of the month we need to be discerning and not accept second best – either for ourselves or the people closest to us. It is about looking at the things in our lives with clear vision, not clouded by emotion, and asking ourselves if there
is something better out there. It is better to delay making a decision, if there is one to be made, until we are sure because otherwise we will end up really worried and trapped in a prison of our own making. That is the problem with worrying – it blocks our intuition and guidance and we can’t see the wood for the trees. Hence, it’s better to hold out for the very best, never doubting that it will arrive, rather than cutting corners and living to regret
it.
Towards the end of October we could encounter some obstacles. Things might not be going as smoothly as we would wish. This could be due to us succumbing to worrying and, therefore, attracting all the problems that we have been envisaging. At
this time it is important to keep our goal in sight, because the longer we focus on the challenges, the more we delay achieving our aims. There is a real breakthrough appearing at the end of the month, but we have to be clear-sighted and open-minded in order to see it. We will be offered a new way of life, if we can let go of the old. Again, the repeated message of letting go of what no longer serves us! We really can’t get away from that – the old story which is told in
many ways. For example – there is a small hole in the wall, we put our hand in and grasp whatever is on the other side – the problem is that we can’t withdraw our hand without letting go of what we have hold of. So, the question is – do we sit there forever with our hand through the wall, holding on for dear life, or do we let go and look for something even better, without obstacles, somewhere else? The choice is always ours!
As we come to the end of the month we would be well advised to look at our lives with well-balanced thought and judgement. If we can park our emotions for a while and take an objective look at what we have achieved, what we still want to achieve, and
whether our current path will eventually lead us to that achievement, we will have a clearer view of what steps are necessary. I am not for a minute suggesting dumping old friends just because they can’t help us in achieving our particular immediate goal – what I am suggesting though is putting a distance between ourselves and people who actively hold us back, that demean us and make us feel that we can’t achieve, that we aren’t worth it. A new life is beckoning us and we don’t need
that type of energy.
Our luck throughout the month is to be tactful and diplomatic. Don’t make waves when they aren’t necessary. Tread carefully on people’s feelings, try to avoid their toes and dispense honey rather than vinegar. Banging on doors and demanding our
rights just isn’t going to work – it will only ensure that people will duck for cover when they see us coming and double bolt their doors. Look for the win/win situation and consider other people’s needs as important as our own. That will make the month go by a lot smoother.
October is yet another month of personal discovery and challenges. Discarding what is no longer necessary, or actively deciding to stay put, holding on tightly to all the dead wood and resisting change with all of our might. As I have said before, the choice is
entirely ours and we have no one else to blame if we eventually observe that life is passing us by.
Wishing you an optimal October, surrounded by the loving and supportive people already in your lives, by whose example you can better judge who and what needs to be left behind in the past, while you actively move forward into more promising and rewarding
ventures.
