Welcome to this month’s general card reading. I hope that it will resonate with those of you who read it and you will find it helpful.
Cards duplicated in last 6 months:
April, May, June and August – 4 of Pentacles
April, June and August - Temperance
June and August – Ace of Cups
April and August – The Chariot
The main message for this month is about not getting in our own way. This has been a constant message since April, only excluding last month. Also to appreciate and nurture the loving and supportive relationships we have around us. It would be good for us to be open-hearted and to try not to get frustrated if things don’t always go according to plan.
As we start off this month we are being asked to let go of relationships and situations which no longer serve us. If we have done our best, given our all, and it’s still not working, then the indication is that it is not for us and we need to let go and start again if necessary. We can’t happily or easily hold things to us if
they aren’t in alignment with us.
The first part of August indicates that it’s time to make some plans for the future. Where do we want to be in 3 months, 6 months etc., and what will it take to get there? Set some goals – even if it’s as short term as reading a book this week. Our goals aren’t set in stone, but they are a way of keeping us on track so
that we don’t drift along, getting nothing done. We also need to be patient with the process – Rome wasn’t built in a day! We need to spend some time alone to gather our thoughts and decide what our new direction is going to be.
In the middle part of the month we could be getting a bit frustrated and, dare I say, irritable with those around us. Our energy is much better channelled if we use it to further our goals and not get tetchy when things aren’t going our way, or as fast as we wish – remember the mention of patience in the previous paragraph? If
we get focused and disciplined we will be able to harness all that energy and be ready to move forward when the time is right, rather than depleting it through throwing it around in a negative manner.
Towards the end of August we will be more prepared to go out into the world with a feeling of compassion and love towards people. Some of us might be looking for a significant other at this point. What we give out will return to us tenfold and we will be attracting money and resources. The end of the month will feel
much more productive than the beginning, but the beginning is necessary in order for us to gather our thoughts and focus on our next destination in life.
As we come to the end of the month it’s back to the old story – the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. Just when things are looking up and starting to move forward something inside us suddenly flips a switch and on go the brakes! All the self-doubts, questions about whether we should just stay as we are etc. rush
to the fore and stubbornness takes up residence! This card has been plaguing us since April and where has it got us so far? Nowhere! All we do is block finances, block creativity and stagnate. So when the doubts start and we can feel ourselves digging our heels in, we would be wise to ask ourselves ‘Is this situation really one I want to be in in ten years, even if the people around me have moved on?’ If the answer is a resounding ‘NO’, then it’s only fear that is
getting in our way and fear isn’t fact, it’s just our over active imagination having a bad day!
Our luck throughout the month is the loving and nurturing relationships we have around us. We must never take for granted the wonderful people who share our lives – whether on a full time basis or popping in from time to time. These relationships are the rocks that we can anchor ourselves to in turbulent and chaotic
times.
Let this be the month when we firmly put our doubts and fears into a box which we then dispose of in a suitable way. It might even be a good idea to physically write down all our anxiety triggers onto separate pieces of paper, place them in a box and keep adding anything else that worries us until the end of the month. Then we can find a
safe place to burn the contents of our Fear Box, releasing our fears and asking for spiritual help to overcome them. Burn the contents without re-reading any of them. Any recurring fears can always be added to the box for next month’s burning ceremony, but there is no benefit in reminding ourselves what our fears are and thereby resurrecting them. This could be a useful practice for anyone who is in a fearful state of mind.
Wishing everyone an anxiety-free August!
