January and February - 8 of Wands
The energy that is overlapping from last month is really positive - a feeling of anxiety and tension are being left behind and some smooth sailing is ahead. Possible travel is indicated with this card too.
As we start off this month we are inundated with work. We need to keep ahead of the game and really apply
ourselves. It is important at this time to improve ourselves as much as possible and not get too relaxed in the workplace.
The first part of February it would be wise to take some time out - in meditation and contemplation if that is what appeals to us. It is a good time to find as much solitude as we can as we need time to plan the year ahead and set some
goals. It doesn't matter if our goals change along the way, but the setting of them will ensure that we don't just drift along with whatever tide that happens by. We also need to learn the art of patience - everything comes at the right time.
In the middle part of the month we are going to feel that we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Whichever way
we turn, someone is going to get upset. We often get ourselves into these situations by not being transparent and clear about our intentions in the first place. We need to deal with the situation with tact and diplomacy. Shouting and making a lot of fuss won't get us anywhere - in fact, it will only make the situation worse. The softly, softly approach is needed.
Towards the end of February things are looking much brighter. We have reason for joy and celebration due to all the hard work we have put in earlier in the month and even before that. Our 100% commitment to our work, family and friends will ensure that we have plenty to celebrate. With that comes the positive energy which uplifts any anxiety or tension we have been feeling. Maybe a trip over water will happen for some of
us.
As we come to the end of the month we aren't really going to know our way forward very clearly. There is a fair amount of confusion around us, but it doesn't have to be a negative. I personally find that when I don't know what I'm meant to be doing, the Universe steps in with some wonderful directions for me. So it's important that we don't get anxious
if we can't see a clear road ahead - just relax and the road will show itself soon enough. All we have to do is take our hands off the wheel of our life for a while and let a higher power take over.
Our luck throughout the month is knowing when it's time to move on and cut ties to past situations. We often get so comfortable in a space that we don't want to make
a change. We get torn between staying the same or growing in another direction. When new opportunities crop up, we need to make sure we give them a lot of thought before making a final decision.
